Tales of the Elder Gods -- GodSpark: The Origin of the First Super Powered Being

It was a day like any other day. I went to school, came home, and hurried through my homework so I could chat with my friends from around the globe via the internet. I was talking to Johnny, my marine buddy in Japan, when I noticed it. Flash BOOM! A while later, Flash BOOM! I jumped a bit due to the “Wrath of Belroth” like lightning and the echoing thunder that shook the very foundation of my house. I swear it felt like Belroth, king of the elder gods, himself was trying to bring, the world to its knees.

“Ah, that was a big’un” I stated to no one in particular. Then my focus was stolen from my conversation about how I’d like a pet pterodactyl by the dimming of the lights. “Oh no you don’t,” I threatened the lights. “Don’t you go out on me; I’ll whoop your ass.”

I’m the Rob-anaut said (at 8:57pm 6/8/09)
Hey man, if I log out its cause my electric died on me… we got a nasty storm here

Marine Man (at 8:57pm 6/8/09)
It’s ok, I have to b up early anyway for something. They wont tell me what tho
But, dude, u should probably shut ur shit down, storms rain hell on comps

I’m the Rob-anaut said (at 8:58pm 6/8/09)
To hell with that dude
I’ll be fine
I’m gonna put my faith in the laws of comic books
I’m the Rob-anaut said (at 8:59pm 6/8/09)

“If it’s fatal and you don’t die, you gain super powers somehow connected with your accident.”

Just then, I saw a flash and a deafening BOOM that shook my soul. I saw one last flash that seemed to punch me in the chest, and throw me across the room onto my bed. I felt an odd tingling in everything I was, and then, nothing. The black abyss had swallowed me, and I was certain I was done. My final thought was a simple prayer to Belroth, “please, don’t let me die tonight. Please don’t let me die”

I awoke the next morning to an all too familiar sound. WEEEEE! WEEEEE! WEEEEE! “Awwwwwoh!” I groaned as consciousness rushed back to me like flood waters racing down a river bed “That was a wicked awesome dream I had. Freakin’ lightning and top secret Johnny” I reach over to thwart the tormenting clock. I was still an inch away when suddenly the digital 7:26 flashed then disappeared. Shocked at such an oddity, I quickly removed my hand as if I had just noticed a venomous serpent on my alarm clock. As if by magic, the numbers reappeared.

Now I was really confused. Was my dream really not a dream at all, but a foggy memory of the night before? I reluctantly looked over to my computer, afraid that what I knew in my heart was true. As I looked I saw the screen of the monitor, a discolored dot about the size of a baseball was in the middle and radiating from the dot was ripples on the screen. I looked at me shirt; there was a large hole that was singed a little around the edges. That must have been where the lightning struck me. In its stead was a lightning bolt-esque shape that seemed to b burned and charred into my chest. I could see pretty clearly all the edges of Bleroth’s fury, each corner, everything seemed like it was etched there onto me by the Elder Gods themselves. “By the Gods” I thought with a schoolgirl like giddiness, “I’m a super hero!”

"So, what should we do?"

"I don’t know. Nothing like this has ever happened before. No one has ever had power that could rival the gods. Belroth, what should we do?"

"Well, I’m not sure… I think we should hold a council to decide. Leaogett, go get your wife, Chaisi, and then both of you come to the great hall to discuss what we shall do with this mortal."

"Ok, Belroth, I’m on it"

"And Onic, you go and get the hall ready. I’ll go find Ilden and we’ll meet u all there."

"Ok, I’ll see you there"

"Ok, now that everyone is here let’s begin, you may have noticed on the earth-viewer that a mortal recently gained god like abilities due to a freak accident. A lightning bolt struck him last night, and he can now produce his own bio-electricity. Now I called this council to decide his fate. The floor is open. Yes dear?"

"Well I think we should see what he does, if the lower gods don’t get to him he could be a great thing for the people, he would b an extra pair of eyes for us elder gods, he seems to have a good heart, I vote give him a chance"

"Thank you, Ildin. Yes. Onic."

"I’ve taken the time to look at the boy’s thoughts, and to peer into his soul… his thoughts are in the right place, but his soul shows signs of corruption. Before u get all jumpy, no, it’s not like the lower gods’ corruption, almost like a natural corruption, I say we stop the boy before he can give in to his corruption, with a fitting end decided at a later time."

"That is duly noted, Onic, anyone else have anything to say? Any questions or comments? Ok, so we’ll go to a vote, live or die. Ilden?"

“Life”

"Chaise?"

“Death”

"Leaogett?"

“Life”

"Onic?"

“Death”

"Looks like I have to decide. I think that he can do a lot of good, but we’ll have to keep an eye on him. I vote “life”

"Now that he is to live, should there be any rules put in place to make sure he doesn’t give in to his temptations?"

"We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, let’s see how he does."

“So says the Elder Gods of the Highest Realm and so it shall be. The gods have spoken”

“Ok, now that I have super powers, and I’m a superhero”, I thought to myself, “I need a rockin’ name for all my fans and admirers to chat as I go by. Hmmm, this is harder than I thought” after what must have been hours I finally had something that sounded great “GodSpark” I said, letting the name roll around in my mouth. Tasting each letter as it passed my lips “GodSpark” I said again. It just sounded better and better the more I said it.

“Criminals of Vokadail City” I beckoned to the city in my best superhero voice, “prepare to taste justice!”

[*ok, foot note... i know that the ending is kinda cheesey, but i didnt have the word count to do as i wanted to, so let me know what u think of it incase u were confused the little part in between the 2 parts about GodSpark is suposed to b the council of elder gods discussing what to do with him. so i hope u enjoyed it. after the ppl i send it to comments i'll tell u what i want the rest to b and i'll let u comment again... if i have tiem i may try to finish the story
